What initial steps should be taken by a teacher wishing to implement visible learning in the classroom?

“The basic model is that Teaching is to DIE for -- hence the first step is excellent diagnosis – what do students already know, how they learn, what they bring to the classroom, etc. The second is for teachers to have multiple interventions – so that if the first does not work they change to others. The third is evaluation of the choice of intervention leading to great Diagnoses – and onwards to progress and improvement” (John Hattie, personal communication, July 24, 2016).
