To me, the issue is not how well learners are taught, geography, maths, science, etc. nor how their thinking skills are developed, but rather the extent to which they are, or are not, socially engineered into believing in the most important thing one is able to believe in, i.e. oneself, i.e. confidence. Thoughts?

Answer: “Respect for self and others is high on my list too …curriculum drives me nuts as it is too often about doing more stuff! Take half out and we would be for the better. But remember it is teachers who put the stuff in!!!” (John Hattie, personal communication, March 19, 2018).
