Teachers are stunningly high users of social media, so one organisation I am aligned with Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership links teachers, provides high quality resources, runs webinars etc. and over 1/3rd million educators come to the site a month.  This is the greatest power of technology among educators.  The use of technology in schools has a small positive impact, which has not changed much over the past 50 years despite enormous changes in the quality of the technology.  The smaller effect is mainly because technology is used more for knowledge consumption (google, videos, games) and not as much for knowledge production.  We are using technology to get students to ask questions, seek feedback, and talk about their learning with each other -- which happens to little while teachers are talking so much!” (John Hattie, personal communication, August 19, 2018).
